How To Google People’s Names
15 01 2010The net is an interesting way to carry out a free people search to locate a person. Free people searches can be done from a number of places including sites that act as people locators. There’s another way to search for people other than the websites and that’s to look for the person from any search engine.
Google is currently rated as the top search engine and most people would rather carry out this search on Google even though it would also work with the other search engines. Googling a person is what the people search that you do has come to be referred to. There are ways of Googling people effectively so that you get results. Below I’ll discuss how to Google people’s names properly.
Depending on the instructions that you give when you’re carrying out a certain search, dissimilarities arise in search results. These instructions are normally encoded in what are called syntaxes. That’s all just terminology and the actual side of it is easy. Let us look at how to Google peoples’ names using these syntaxes.
Firstly when you type in the name make sure that you enclose it inside quotation marks as in the following example, “Patrick West”. The syntaxes in this case are the quotation marks and make sure that only Jim Best results are showed not Jim or Best outcome. That is one way of how to Google people’s names.
You can also use the plus (+) or minus/subtract (-) syntaxes. The minus you use shouldn’t be incorporated in the search and the plus you use to add that should be incorporated into the search. As an example “Patrick West” + artist will look for all the documents that have that name and the word artist in them if the person that you are looking for is an artist of course.
The minus (-) works the opposite in this way of how to Google person’s name. The minus excludes all the pages that you don’t want searched. As an Example “Michael Jordan” – basketball will look for Michael Jordan pages except for those that mention basketball, because you are looking for a different Michael Jordan. You can try them out as they are called wild card searches.
