A common concern for clients of mine is their assumption that they have to lose 50 pounds and/or be financially independent before they can create long-standing love. This is of course a myth. This is just low self-esteem blocking you from being truly whole.

It’s wonderful to want to look your best, be your perfect self, have high self-esteem and be ok concerning your financial situation. It feels really good to feel secure, confident, and beautiful.

There are a MASSIVE number of industries that prey on peoples’ poor sense of self-image. At some time or another, we’ve all fallen prey to buying that new exercise machine that promises to make it simple for us to tone up, slim down and have a beautiful self. Supplements, special diets or dieting plans, hair products, skin, teeth, libido, all of it! And these things are all aimed at one basic idea – that we are not actually OK the way we already are.

We are so used to this type of thought pattern that we hardly even realize [what is. It’s no surprise that we do this. After all, when we arrive here, on the first day of our life, we’re loved and treated as perfection – mostly. Then almost immediately we are compared to how the previous sibling evolved, at what time they attained this knowledge, sitting, crawling, learning the language, and so on. Our hair, our bodies and how they are the same or different to the other one or that. “Oh, she appears similar to Aunt Mary when she was that age.” You know the pattern.

Begin by examining your recurring thoughts and emotions about your body. Many people do not actually understand that they have persisting energy or emotions from these early experiences. Negative emotion, whether pervading or subtle, doesn’t feel good and many of us just learn to subjugate it, deal with it, or drive it further into the unconscious. These influential emotional experiences usually stay buried. We’ve all heard the term “emotional baggage.” We go through life with old unresolved, paining, intense feelings still held somewhere in us. These emotions transmit to the Universe to reflect back more of the same. You can free yourself by improving your self-esteem.

Begin to change your relationship with yourself by creating a list of what you like about you. What really works about yourself? What can you love concerning your appearance? Think of 10 affirmations every day that you truly love about your body. Do you like your senses? Are you thankful for working fingers? Make a list of the positive aspects about you and watch your energy and vibrational level of attraction start to improve. You CAN improve your self-esteem and attract love.
