The Importance to Stop Anxiety Attacks

Saturday, December 26th, 2009

For the millions of people in the world that go through anxiety attacks, they know all too well how serious this problem is.

If you suffer from anxiety attacks, you need to know that others know what you are going through and while debilitating, talk to your doctor because you do have treatment options.  Once you learn how to stop anxiety attacks, you will be able to study in school, perform at work, and take back control of your life.

Common symptoms are experienced among people with anxiety attacks to include stomach pain, headaches, chest pain, heart palpitations, mood swings, and the list goes on.  As you already know, going through an anxiety attack is very scary.  By meeting with your doctor, other health issues will be eliminated and an anxiety disorder confirmed so the proper treatment could be determined.

The good news is that because so many people have this problem, a lot of research has been done by scientists and medical professionals, looking for triggers.  Although people have different input, most feel inheritance is an issue.  In addition, most experts agree that an imbalance of chemicals in the brain, as well as post traumatic stress disorder is involved.  Although more studies are needed, most experts feel the answer is not far in the future.

Within the brain are neurotransmitters that contain chemicals.  These transmitters are responsible for sending out signals to other parts of the body.  Therefore, when these chemicals are imbalanced, the signals are disrupted, causing the onset of an anxiety attack.  Then, if faced with divorce, death, major illness, or even an experience such as a loved one fighting in war, some people have trouble coping, which leads to post traumatic stress disorder and anxiety attacks.

If you have anxiety attacks, even if infrequently, you probably have symptoms of chest pain, headache, and even digestive problems.  This disorder is very serious and some people have experienced anxiety attacks so horrific that they believe they are having a heart attack.  In fact, this intensity has led some people to call 911 for an ambulance.

The key is to sit down with your doctor so you can discuss different treatment options.  Soon, you will be on your way to a better life once you and your doctor stop anxiety attacks from occurring.

Do You Want to Stop Anxiety Attacks Fast?

Monday, December 21st, 2009

Are you one of the approximately four million people in the United States who have experienced symptoms of anxiety?  Anxiety attacks can happen at home or at work.  It can appear as a heart attack or an oppsessive compulsive behavior. These attacks can interupt your college studies, business activities or relationships with those you love.  For these reasons you should get medical attention to stop anxiety attacks as soon as possible.

Some of the symptoms to watch for are excessive worry, over emphasis on small problems, restlessness, irritability, headache, tiredness, nausea, etc. If you want to stop anxiety attacks you will need to have your physician analyze all these symptoms.  A medical physician can perform tests to differentiate between an “imagined” physical symptom and an actual condition that may need treatment.

There have been many studies done to discover the source of anxiety attacks.  Some believe it could be a genetically inherited disease, results of a post traumatic disorder, or due to abnormal brain chemistry.

Geneticists believe that a person’s family history can determine a lot of what types of illnesses they may be susceptible to.  The brain requires its neurotransmitters to keep the nerve cells working properly. Correct flow can be intreupted by inordinate amounts of certain chemicals in the brain. Environmental changes can also trigger anxiety symptoms. Going through stressful situations such as the death of someone very close, divorce or being in the military can all be contributing factors that worsen anxiety.

You may have experienced a nervous stomach during a stressful situation but an anxiety attack is another story.  A person experiencing an anxiety attack is quite sure they are dying and are in need of medical attention.  Prior to being ascertained as having an anxiety disorder, an individual will more than likely been rushed to the hospital more than once at the onset of an attack.

It is imperative to see a doctor to get the testing necessary if you suspect you have an axiety disorder. Until you find a way to stop anxiety attacks, either with therapy or with medication, you will not be able to function at work, at home or in personal relationships.

Starting recovery early is the secret. When a person has 1 panic attack, worry of the subsequent one starts almost immediately. Panic attack victims set the stage for the subsequent attack by fearing the next attack. Fear of the following attack slowly builds to an unbearable level. Once fear becomes overwhelming, the subsequent panic attack is inevitable. Almost any scenario can set it off. Fear and panic cycles are self-perpetuating. Growing concern of the following attack truly creates a need for another attack to release the fear. The second attack brings on extra anxiety and

extra intense and frequent attacks. Extra intense attacks follow the minute attack, the frequency will increase too. Many panic attack victims create multiple journeys to emergency rooms to rule out heart attack. Panic attacks plus heart attacks look alike even to medical professionals. It is very significant to create sure your panic attack is just not a heart attack. Going to the ER over plus over becomes awfully expensive. Anxiety and panic disorders create up almost thirty% of each one the cash spent on mental health issues during the U.S. Most of the cash is spent on diagnostic tests and ER visits. Panic attacks are marked by a variety of dramatic symptoms, together with:

• CBT generally solely needs to done once, not over and over again.
• CBT is cost-effective and often lined by insurance. Self-help plans are a smart option for people who don’t want the expense of professional CBT. On-line self-facilitate programs are easy to attain and fast to download.

Those who suffer from depression feel extreme sadness and are unmotivated most of the time. In addition, depressed people suffer from great misery. The difference between anxiety and depression is that anxiety is caused by great excitement while depression is caused by exhaustion.

I was able to find great ways to fight anxiety attacks and depression so I’ve included them here.

Start Living Healthy - I was able to determine something very important when I was still suffering from anxiety and depression. I certainly did not like the torture so I made a decision to do something to stop it. By doing some research, I found out a great way to relieve this feeling—through exercise.

In addition to exercise, I also decided to eat healthier meals. So I picked up some books on healthy eating and started eating more fruits and veggies, cutting out fried and fast food.

I continued this healthy lifestyle and achieved a great result after some months when I did not feel that depressed as before.

Surround Yourself with Your Amazing Friends and Family – It is true that when you are depressed you want to detach yourself from the rest of the world, but as much as possible, hang out with your buddies even if you are depressed. Having great friends around you will make you feel lighter and happier, thus you should do this more often.

Understanding Severe Panic Attack Symptoms

Saturday, October 24th, 2009

A useful fact about severe panic attack symptoms is that they often resemble symptoms of some other acute physical disorders. Severe panic attacks can be stopped by your own resolution and determination; if you are not able to do so then a better option is to visit a physician so he can treat you by understanding your symptoms. Physicians are better able to treat your problems because the are able to determine the cause.

Frequently, the symptoms of a severe panic attack arise with no warning signs. In this way they are quite separate from symptoms of more serious health problems that usually appear after there were some warning signs to help you suspect that an attack was imminent. A panic attack is never a comfortable experience and though it frequently seems they will last forever when you are having one, it is essential to remember that severe panic attack symptoms normally last for only a few minutes or maybe up to half an hour. These side effects may occur over a longer period of time for those with a more critical condition.

Those who are suffering from panic attacks begin to believe that they are in such poor condition that they will die, which just intensifies their concerns. Frequent symptoms of a severe panic attack include suffering from queasiness, numbness and perhaps a tingling sensation. In addition, these signs may appear as shortness of breath or acute muscle tenseness. Your tummy might do flip-flops and your heart will be beating rapidly. Profuse sweating is one more common side effect of a panic attack.

An important aspect of a panic attack is that it will hit very swiftly. The individual will become physically and psychologically incapacitated as the attack is so forceful. They will begin to believe there will never be release from their symptoms.

Anticipating having severe panic attack symptoms can make the problem worse. If the person starts to shun the circumstances that they sense are causing the panic attacks the anxiety can become even more forceful. The problem with recurrent panic attacks is that it will sometimes move up to another stage and grow to be a full blown disorder.

In order to understand the symptoms of panic and anxiety attacks, you ought to keep in mind that the two forms of symptoms are not exactly the same. The accompanying signs of anxiety attacks are normally longer lasting than panic attack symptoms. Normally they aren’t as worrisome as panic attacks are liable to be either.

How To Deal and Overcome Anxiety And Panic Attacks

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

When you start feeling scared, nervous or really worried for no reason, you could be suffering from anxiety.  This is not something to be ashamed of, nor is it something that demands a large amount of medication to treat. Some people can only obtain relief from anxiety with prescription drugs and home remedies and natural solutions work very well for others.  Working to find the best solution for you can be a rather trying experience, but there are plenty of anxiety relief treatments that can prove to be extremely effective. Overcoming anxiety and panic attacks can be achieved.

It is largely reported by people suffering from anxiety that they feel much more anxious after they have consumed large amounts of alcohol.  An effective treatment to reduce your level of anxiety is to cut back your intake of alcohol. If you are only a social drinker, there will be very little you can do to reduce your intake further. For those of you who do have a few drinks a week, this particular treatment would be suitable for you.

Other suggestions include getting as much sleep as possible to ensure you are well rested. The increased occurrence of anxiety attacks has been attributed to a lack of sleep. Multivitamins containing vitamin B, together with additional rest have reduced the symptoms of anxiety. An additional benefit to the vitamins is the ability to allow you to pick up any additional nutrients that you might be missing out on due to your typical dietary habits.

Limiting your intake of sweeteners, which includes natural sugar and artificial sweeteners, helps reduce your anxiety. Monitoring your reaction to any sweetener gives you the benefit of observing what ones you have the most reaction to.  here are some that can make the problems worse for you, while others may not bother you in particular.  Once you find a sweetener that does not give you a reaction, it is important to safely use it and avoid any others.

Reduce your level of caffeine and any products that may contain caffeine, as it only increases your nervousness. Many people suffer more than necessary when using caffeine, because it will spike your anxiety. Reducing caffeine intake can often provide some rather rapid differences that might otherwise never come.  If it is your habit to drink coffee in the morning, change to decaffeinated and your morning cup of coffee can still be enjoyed.

Another way to stop panic attacks is to exercise or start walking around to relieve and overcome anxiety. By getting up and moving around you are taking your mind off of the anxiety that you are feeling and allowing yourself to slowly calm down at your own pace. The anxiety that you were feeling, has to subside, because you are refocused on the activity that you are doing and is extremely effective in taking your mind off your anxiety.

If you can avoid the use of medication to treat anxiety it will be healthier for you. Additionally you will be able to avoid many of the harsh side effects that are otherwise experienced in the treatment.  There are many conflicting ideas, as pointed out with ‘The Anxiety Lie Review‘. What works for one person does not always work for another.

How to Prevent Panic Attacks

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

If you suffer from panic attacks there are several methods that you can use to help {stop them.  ~If you experience panic attacks there are methods that you can learn that will help prevent them.  }The key to controlling your panic attacks is to confront your fear and feel as though you want to experience a panic attack.  By doing this you can disempower the fear before it can develop into a fully blown panic attack.  This probably sounds crazy right now and is quite possibly the complete opposite of what you wanted to hear, but it does work.  Your fear is what draws the panic towards you.  So shift your awareness away from the fear and instead focus on wanting to experience another panic attack.  The wanting helps to push the panic away and reduces the power that the fear has over you.

A panic attack is the result of being in a fearful situation where you feel that you have no control over what is happening to you.  It’s the perceived lack of control that brings on the panic attack.  Some people who have panic attacks will avoid fearful situations but this is no solution as it just causes the fear to persist.  You have to confront the fear in order to overcome the fear.  You will probably find this very frightening to begin with but with repetition you will notice that your fear will start to diminish.

The best products for helping yourself learn to cope with panic attacks are Rich Presta’s Panic Away and Charles Linden’s Linden Method. Either one is highly recommended with very high success rates.

Panic attack sufferers will dread the scary sensations that arrive with each attack and they will often believe that what they are experiencing is harmful or that they might even die.  It is important for you to realize that you cannot be harmed by a panic attack as they are just sensations.  This has been proven countless times and is a medical fact.

The mind of a panic or anxiety suffer will often be filled with worry.  This causes attention to become focused at the top of the head.  The best way to help reduce your anxiety is to become more centred as this will take the focus of attention away from your head.  Try to spend some time pursuing a relaxing hobby or learning meditation, Tai Chi or yoga for example.  Learning how to relax is crucial to overcoming your anxiety.

Panic attacks often begin with a shortness of breath.  You can stop a panic attack by practising breathing exercises that are designed to slow your breathing.  When you feel a panic attack coming on try to focus on your breathing and take deeper and slower breaths.  This will help to slow your heart rate and cause the panic to subside.  Try and exhale as much air as you can from your lungs as this will help you to breathe more deeply on the next in breath.  By taking slow and deep breaths you will notice that it will help to calm your mind.

Associating past events that were traumatic for you with what is occurring in the here and now can often trigger panic attacks.  You should try and focus on what is going on in the present moment rather than dwell on things from the past or worries about the future.  You can do this by paying more attention to what is going on around you.  Pay attention to the colours, sound and smells. Use your sense of touch as well by feeling objects or stroking or holding a pet.

You can calm your mind with the aid of aromatherapy oils such as lavender.  They are good to carry with you if you suffer from anxiety.  There is a great natural aid for anxiety and it is called “Rescue Remedy” which is a Bach Flower essence and can be purchased in health food stores.

It is good to make notes in a journal about the things that you are afraid of and that you fear could cause you to experience a panic attack.  Next to all the things that your find fearful you should write down something that would calm that fear.  When you find yourself in one of these situations again, try repeating these calming things to yourself.

You don’t have to continue to live with panic attacks. This article has suggested a few techniques that you can use to control your panic and anxiety.  You can learn to overcome panic and anxiety and regain control over your life. The link below will show you much more information on overcoming panic attacks.
