Listen to Dog Expert’s Interviewed About Caring for Your Dog

June 8, 2009

In the past I’ve wrote many articles and blog posts on healthy dog food, but today I would like to talk more about everything else it takes to raise a dog.

Pet parents around the world all always wishing they knew how to get answers to simple questions like how to take a trip with their dog, or even simpler yet how to get them to sit on command. Did you ever wish you knew how to make your own flea and tick repellant from all natural ingredients?.

One of the side benefits about my hundreds of hours of research on dog food has been that I have been able to find reliable resources for answers to all of the questions above. This has allowed me to be a better parent for my two dogs.

Finding information on the Internet is not a problem, but trusting the answers should be a major concern. You need to know you are dealing with experts not some BS artist out to take your money. We want to know that what we do is best for our pets

I got to thinking on how great it would be if I could call and expert in the field for all the questions I had. I called my vet so often that he stopped returning my calls, which was probably the best thing anyway.

Most vets are not experts in things like training your dog, so they can’t give you good advice on this and many other question you’ll have.

Most people don’t even think about the fact that you should find out what breed is going to fit best with your family and your home

Because it is so difficult to find good answers to pet problems, dog parents usually just do the best that they can, this sometimes works out, but often it ends up being bad for both them and their dogs.

Sadly many reason people turn their dogs over to pet shelters is because they either picked the wrong breed for their family, or some other problem they didn’t know how to find answers to correct..

Today I’m happy to say that I have found expert answers to all of these questions and more. I would be happy to share them with you and help you become a better parent to your dog.

The Top 9 Best Dog Food Brands on the Market

June 5, 2009

With a growing number of pet owners contemplating the connection of their dog’s health to what he eats, they are wondering about the best dog food brands.Really all you need to do to get the best dog food brand is to read and understand the list of ingredients on the label.

It would be great if that was the case, but with the encrypted code being used by the pet food companies, it is not that easy.

When you search for healthy foods for humans the task seems fairly easy, however when checking for the best dog food brands the task becomes very daunting and the facts are certainly unclear and confusing.

The trouble here is that pet food producers are allowed to incorporate ingredients that are not for human consumption in their foods. The companies not only use by-product in their food, but are legally allowed to mask how unhealthy it is by using healthy sounding names in the ingredients list.

You would think if you seen dried egg product listed as an ingredients in your dog food that that would be a healthy thing. The fact is that these foods can contain eggs, egg shells, and similar tissues which are unfit for human consumption.

While doing my research to find the best dog food brands, I ran across a list of 68 ingredients that are used by some of the best brands, that should give you cause to stop feeding these brand to your dog. 28 of these 68 are actually deadly ingredients, and why they won’t kill your dog today, they will shorten her life considerably.

I also found a free confidential dog food report written by a guy that has hired a testing firm to find the best dog food brands in North America. Sorry I can not re-print that article here because of the copyright.

I do know that there are only nine types of dog food in America that were deemed healthy enough to actually end up on the best dog food brands list.

27 brands didn’t make the list after consideration, and there are some big names that didn’t make it. Some of the big brand names such as Science Diet and Iams were not of sufficient quality to pass the tests to get on the list.

The report continues to be updated, and in this 2nd addition there are six brands that have been removed due to reasons listed in the report.
Matter of fact the report lists the reason why good or bad for every brand in the report.

After becoming outraged on the things I found out about what they put into dog food, I changed my two dogs to a homemade diet. I’ll be the first to admit that at times it is just necessary to have a commercially made back-up. This is why it was so import to me to find the best dog food brands that would be healthy for my dogs.
