Every little boy and little girl wants to be a superhero at some point in their young lives. For some of us the feeling tends to go away eventually, for others it never does. For those of us who still have a little superhero tendencies under our straight-laced business clothes and our button down shirts, Halloween is our moment of shining glory, the time when we pull out the capes and tights and let our superhero out to shine.

We start with the Women:

1. Wonder Woman

Who did not want to be Linda Carter? That glossy black hair, piercing blue eyes and the most perfect complexion in the world, and, to top it off she got to wear that kick butt star spangled outfit with the most killer accessories this side of Kenneth Lane. Bracelets that could deflect bullets and a golden lariat that made you tell the truth, she truly was a wonder.

2. Bat Girl

Batman and Robin were having a monopoly on crime saving in Gotham until Bat Girl decided to crash the party. She might not always have been as cool at Bat Man, but she managed to get the job done and look cute doing it too. The Bat Girl costume has a cape, just long enough to graze the waist, a cute, flirty cape rather than a dark and ominous one.

And Now the Men:

1. Super Man

There will never be a Halloween list that does not contain some mention of Superman in one context or another. The dark blue leotard and tights and the bright red cape say it all. If you find a costume with enhanced muscles, you will have it made, Clark.

2. Batman

Alright, there is something to be said about a man who has more accessories than most women do. The utility belt alone makes this one cool costume. Add to the fact that it is pretty simple and straight forward- black cowl, black cape, gray tights and leotard, yellow utility belt and there you have it. Batman.

3. Spider-Man

Oh Spidey gets to carry goo and shoot webs at people. If you do choose to add this part to your costume, make sure that you keep several things in mind: that stuff is flammable and girls who look like they spent an hour on their hair probably spent two. Again, if you can find the Spider Man costume with built in muscles, go for it. You will be glad that you did.
