What are Easter Eggs
March 24th, 2012 by radoslawczIt’s that time of the year again where we are not only looking forward to Spring time and warm weather, daffodils and Easter lilies but also to Easter Egg hunts and a good roast lunch with your family.
Start off that lunch with a lovely soup served in ceramic handmade soup bowls. This can be a Cauliflower Polonaise soup or a pea and mint soup, which is simple and quick to make.
The main course has to be, of course, the perfect roast lamb. Prepared with lots of garlic and fresh rosemary under its skin and oven roasted to the perfect pink condition it is a main stake of an Easter Lunch.
With the lamp some roast potatoes, ideally in goose fat, and served in a lovely ceramic Provencal dish, or Jersey Royal Potatoes and vegetables. Peas a la Provence with pancetta and shallots is a must but oven roasted root vegetables, again served in a handmade and decorated ceramic dish will work as well or alongside the peas.
The dessert should be a fruit crumble. We always find that rhubarb and mixed berries are the best. Make this crumble in another ceramic handmade ovenproof dish from the Provence. There is nothing nicer than serving something so easy but tasty directly from oven to table. It looks great and tastes fantastic. With the crumble serve custard, ice cream or cream in a ceramic gravy boat.
After such a lunch it is always good to get a bit of fresh air. If your kids are little, pick a good spot in a local park or garden and organize the ‘decorated egg rolling competition’. Take one hardboiled egg each, decorate it and the one who can throw it the biggest distance without breaking the shell wins. And do not be surprised when your ‘kids’ still want to do this even when they are far from being little. Some things never change.
Take the eggs to the park in one of the unique and gorgeous handmade ceramic egg trays from the Provence. These egg trays also make the perfect gift should it not be you preparing the lunch but you are invited as a guest. Bring this ceramic egg holder , either a 6er or 12er tray, filled with chocolate eggs as a special treat.
Easter is the biggest Holiday after Christmas and should be enjoyed with family and friends so go ahead and make something wonderful and special out of the long weekend. printable easter eggs
