Learning Hindi Online May Be Your Best Bet
If you’ve been looking for a class in Hindi at a normal college, you may have come up disappointed. Now, if you live in or outside a big city, or there happens to be a large university near you, you may be able to find a Hindi class. But few smaller colleges offer Hindi as an alternative. So what’s the answer?
Why not try learning Hindi online? Most of the online Hindi lessons you’ll find online won’t give you college credit, but they will give you a leg up in learning the language fast. It could be that you want to learn Hindi for travel, work, or family obligations. Irrespective of your reasons, learning Hindi online may resolve troubles you never knew you had.
You don’t assume so? Well, let’s see.
Suppose that forty miles away, you find a Hindi class in which you could enroll. If you have a typical day job, you’d really like to study Hindi at night. Since Hindi isn’t a very common class, it’s not scheduled at night. There is, however, a class that starts at four p.m., meeting twice a week. You convince your boss to let you out early two afternoons a week – but he’s not happy about it.
On your first day of class, you race from the office into a snarl of rush hour traffic. As the queue of cars inch forward, you curse yourself for not choosing to learn Hindi online. But finally you arrive at school, five minutes early. The parking lot’s full; there’s not a single empty spot. More minutes pass before a spot opens up. And you still haven’t found the building, the classroom, or a seat. Are you sure you want to endure all that twice a week?
Point won – learning Hindi online is infinitely more hassle-free. But how can you be sure it’s more effective? The effectiveness of learning Hindi online is completely reliant on the program you choose and the time and effort you put into using it. Look for a program that suits your learning style. If you’re a visual learner, you’ll want to use the audio track with text and icons you can read. Don’t make the error of assuming you can learn to speak a language from reading, without any “listen and repeat” conversations at all; you wouldn’t know how to pronounce the language!
If you search online, you’ll find Hindi programs offering free downloads so you can sample the product. Try a couple of them to see if learning Hindi online will work for you. Before you know it, you’ll be speaking Hindi!
