As long as your distance learning online degree is from an accredited institution, your education will serve you well in the professional world.
Perhaps one of the most notable online English (as in UK) universities is The Open University which offers 14 subject areas and almost 600 different classes. This online institution has degree programs starting at beginning certification levels to Bachelor and post graduate degrees to professional level certification which expounds upon learned practical knowledge. Another UK option is Grafton College distance learning which offers students excellent education options in business administration and computer information systems. Online learning is not limited to just college or university level coursework. You can study elementary, junior high and high school curriculum and earn a diploma through the internet. The Alberta Distance Learning Center in Alberta, Canada offers kids in grades 1 through 12 the opportunity to study at their own pace and even earn a diploma early. If you are a soldier in the U.S. Army, you have distance learning education options as well. You can serve your country, even in remote places, and still complete coursework towards a degree. The Army Distance Learning program is quite flexible, with start times every eight to fifteen weeks. Different Army educations programs help translate some of your real world military training experience into college credit. Other branches of the military like the Navy and Marines also have their own distance learning college degree programs for soldiers.
Distance learning is often cheaper than tuition at a physical location. In addition, you can achieve a well-rounded education due to this global approach to learning. Being able to live in one country and take classes based in another country can provide you invaluable exposure to other cultures and business practices.
