London Sample Sale – Top 10 Tips

Designer Sample Sale, London Sample Sales March 22nd, 2009

To help you get the most out of the sales, here are our London Sample Sale Top 10 Tips:

  1. Be prepared to spend more than just one hour at the London sample sale.  Of course this depends on the size of the sale, if it is a small one held by a single designer then this tip may not apply. However if you are going to a large event such as the Designer Warehouse Sale, then you will be bowled over by the amount of choice available and may have to dig to find bargain gems.
  2. Be patient as you will most likely have to queue. If it is a popular London sample sale, there will be queues everywhere; queues to get into the sale, queues to try on clothes, and queues to pay.
  3. You might want to consider comfortable shoes as you could be on your feet for several hours. Also if you plan on trying on footwear, you probably want shoes that you can slip on and off quickly and easily.
  4. Consider visiting the London sample sale on more than just one day. Sometimes new stock is added daily, so it may be worthwhile finding out.
  5. Go with a friend. It’s always useful to have a second opinion and it makes the London sample sale shopping experience more fun!
  6. Try and bring cash if you can, because it is likely that the London sample sale will charge you to use your credit card or even your debit card. Although the credit card fee is not much, usually just a quid or two.
  7. There is usually a coat check and you will have to check your coat and your bags.  So don’t bring too much with you especially any valuables; however you’ll be able to bring in your wallet and mobile. It’s probably best if you can put your wallet in your pocket or wear a wristlet so your hands are free to hunt through the rails!
  8. Don’t feel like you have to buy something at every London sample sale. Sometimes you might think, there are so many bargains here and it would be a shame if I didn’t pick up something.  But if you don’t see anything that you really want to buy, just walk away. This just means you have more dosh to spend at the next London sample sale!
  9. The early bird does get the worm. Stock is usually limited and the best pieces are usually taken by those who get there first. So try and go as early as you can. Don’t wait until the last hour on the last day.
  10. If you see something you absolutely love, don’t hold back especially if it is a one-off piece. You may never see it again!

Hopefully these tips will be useful! Now find out when the next London sample sale is happening!
