Foods high in cholesterol are the main factors that contribute to high cholesterol levels in a person. There are basically two kinds of cholesterol in the body, LDL (bad cholesterol) and HDL (good cholesterol). Foods high in cholesterol are not necessarily fatty or greasy foods, although most, if not all, of these kinds of foods are high in cholesterol. Creamy foods are also sources of saturated fats which result into cholesterol in the body.

Eggs, whether boiled, fried or scrambled are considered foods high in cholesterol. Most cholesterol is found in the yolk of an egg. Many pure dairy products such as cheeses, butter and fresh milk are also rich in saturated fats and cholesterol. Foods that are high in cholesterol and saturated fats are kidneys and certain internal organs of beef, pork and the meats. If one notices, it is actually animal products and by products which are most dangerous in elevating the cholesterol levels in the human body.

Although foods high in cholesterol are dangerous in elevating a person’s LDL levels, there are also some aspects of these foods which may add to the health of the person. Eating minimal amounts of these foods is acceptable enough to keep the cholesterol levels in check.
