CELEBRITY TREND OBSESSION

Posted by on 1st August 2009

Why should I care about celebrities? For that matter, why should any of us? A life that looks and feels just like ours, yet is light years beyond our reach is the parallel universe that celebrities live in and why it is so fascinating to us. Many american’s suffer from “celebrity worship syndrome.” It’s an unhealthy interest in the lives of the rich and fabulous. According to the researchers, about a third of us have it to some degree. In fact, over the past few years, a wealth of academic literature has cashed in on our relationships with the stars.

Fans used to be lumped into two distinct groups. The first were harmless admirers who enjoyed their celebrity’s talents from afar. The second group of fans were the obsessive letter writers and the stalkers. Why the fascination? Why is it that we care and feel involved in the personal lives of people we have never even met?

Social psychologists agree that the reasons are complex, but some issues seem to recur.

1.      One is that we’re bored, and living through movie stars is a way of alleviating that boredom.

2.Teenagers usually score highest on celebrity worship syndrome proving that another reason is – we are searching for identity.

3.      Social fragmentation: as family and community values are crushed by individualism and the omnipresent media, perhaps fantasy relationships are becoming easier to form than real ones.

4.Celebrities are our gods since Fame has become the new religion. Psychological research lends some weight to this theory: the more a person subscribes to a formal, institutionalized religion, the less likely they are to worship a celebrity.

5.Whether family, friends, neighbors or celebrities – Gossip – still plays an important role in cementing social bonds and improving an individual’s status within a group.

6.      Evolution – it makes sense for us to copy high-status individuals. People with high status, among our ancestors, tended to reproduce more often, so copying their techniques was a way of improving our own fitness.

Which brings us to our own personal appearance.  We are obsessed with looking trim and fit just like our celebrity idols. Beauty bias is well known. We do pay more attention to people who are good looking. Throughout human history we’ve always idolized people more successful and beautiful than ourselves.

When it comes to weight loss who falls into the same category – models , actors, musicians, and singers. How do you lose those extra pounds when you’re preparing to go on tour, need to be on the red carpet, or are flying to meet a photographer in some exotic location?

Many Stars are quick to share their diet secrets:

KIRSTIE ALLEY revealed how at her heaviest she demolished up to an astonishing 28,000 calories a day. Kirstie now eats healthily — around 1,500-2,000 calories a day.

RENEE ZELLWEGER: for both Bridget Jones films Renee consumed 4,780 calories a day for three months, eating 20 doughnuts a day, battered beef, fast-food burgers, chips and shakes as well as pizza and peanut butter. After the first film, she embarked on the Atkins diet. Now the 5ft 5 inch star maintains her figure on tuna, cold meats, dressing-free salads and raw vegetables.

LIZ HURLEY: In the past, Liz has admitted to ‘eating very little breakfast, not too much more lunch. Then tiny little snacks, like 6 raisens or a banana, during the day. The only meal I have is dinner’.

According to Russian Harper’s Bazaar Oprah Winfrey, Elizabeth Taylor, Angelina Jolie and Julia Roberts all are fans of Metabospeed. Metabospeed is a combination of Guarana, Bitter Orange and Garcinia. This proprietary blend strongly supports fat burning, vast increased energy and appetite control. For those who are looking for the pill that combines the best fat burners with the most potent metabolism booster then MetaboSpeed, “the celebrity diet pill” is the one for you.

The Effectiveness Green Tea And Weight Loss

Posted by on 1st August 2009

Green Tea Weight Loss

Many people are now turning to inexpensive and natural green tea weight loss diets to aid them in their weight control efforts. It is simple too. Like any other tea,Green tea can be drunk usuallly without the need for milk or sweeteners, or if you do not like the bitterness you can purchase green tea extract.

Recent studies have shown that Green tea helps to reduce weight by stimulating the body’s thermogenesis process, which amplifies the expenditure of energy and the oxidization of bod fat. Many compounds discovered in plants have this effect. The special thing about green tea is that it will not increase the heart rate, and is believed to be much safer than diet pills that also stimulate this thermogenesis like ephidrine.

So many people who are overweight have /or run the risk of developing hypertension and other cardiovascular problems, so the fact that green tea does not put pressure on the heart makes it a wonderful choice. Ephidrine is not usually recommended if you are in this group as green tea is considered a safe option. Because the fact that green tea reduces your risk of heart problems, you can gradually increase your exercise levels to a safe level.

There are only two ways to lose weight: one way is by by increasing expenditure of energy (using up more calories)and the other is by eating less (consuming fewer calories). Green tea works by increasing output and this can be by around 4%. Most scientists believe that this is produced by the high quantity of catechin that is found in the tea and its extract.

Powerful antioxidants are one of the added benefits Green tea has that may be beneficial to your health in many ways, protecting against disease and strengthening the immune system.

While taking green tea it would be wise cut out coffee and other forms of tea, as Green tea does contain caffeine. It is not recommended to drink Decaffeinated green tea because removing the caffeine with certain chemical processes may be destructive to the beneficial properties of the plant.

At the same time you will need to maintain control in what you eat. It will be hard for you to lose any weight, if you compensate for the calories burnt up by the tea by eating more. Over a few weeks you should see results in gradual weight loss and better energy levels if you maintain in the same calorific count and the taking of green tea. You can of course increase the speed of this by increasing exercise and/ or reducing your calorie consumption.

Green tea is a simple, easy and inexpensive weight control aid that can easily be integrated into any weight loss program. The choice of tea or extract offers something for everybody. Safe and natural, green tea weight loss should be a feature in your dietprogram if you want topermanently kep the weight off.
