Poker: Every Game Needs a Donkey

Poker: Every Game Needs a Donkey
Playing poker is a game where players combine patience, math skills and nerves to extract money from the other players at the table. In my time of playing poker, I have never sat down at a table where at least one donkey was not present.

Benefits of Online Poker over Live Play

Playing online poker is a good method to get skills and knowledge about the game. Lots of people question moving their play to the internet because they worry that they will lose something as a result. In all actuality, just about every aspect of live play is equivalent to what goes on online, but the internet comes with a few added bonuses you should take into consideration. Here are several reasons why playing poker online is better than playing live.

Convenience

There is obviously a degree of convenience present in internet poker tournaments because you can play them at your house, instead of driving some place in town. You have access to tables any time of the day or night you desire, and you will still play against live people. The one catch is you play behind a screen name or avatar. All sorts of things else is identical, but it happens right at home for your enjoyment.

Secrecy

Unless you have a very good poker face, the web is going to be the perfect spot for you to play. People cannot watch your reactions when you play online. Most US poker sites will offer you an opportunity to either use an avatar or at least create a username to hide behind. That is the only information that gives away who you’re in the slightest, and you may work that out so nobody knows anything. You may be a totally different person on the web and work that in your favor.

Speed

Everything happens faster with internet poker because it’s automated. Dealing is quick, betting is quick, action is quick, and everything is done for you. You are left with a game that takes a tiny part of the time a normal one would, giving you more time to spend the money you just won. As long as there aren’t any disconnections on your table, you will get through a game with great ease.

Accuracy

Because things are all automated online, the idea of human error is nearly eliminated. Pots are always split accurately, and you can be certain that every player puts in the proper amount of money if they wants to play a hand. The accuracy of the computer can’t be matched by anything else, which is great when you’ve got money on the line. You can be sure that your money is safe in internet poker rooms.

Bonuses

You may get online poker bonuses that you obviously can’t get elsewhere. They are designed to release money to you when you play for a certain amount of time, and they literally offer you free rewards just for being around. You can find bonus codes that you can get from some websites prior to signing up with an actual poker site, and with these you may create an account and get free money as you play. If you can find these bonus codes, your online poker experience will be even better than it would be naturally.

Location

For anyone in the audience from the USA, not all internet poker rooms wii accept you. You will need to find one that does. The best way to accomplish this is to locate a US poker sites web portal. These portals have done the work for you and are very reliable.

Justice Department Ruling Could Mean Big Changes For Online Poker Players

In a very surprising move, the US Department of Justice has clarified its stance on internet gambling. The legal opinion was issued on Friday before Christmas, but the original decision was made back in September. The ruling came in response to a request by Senators Harry Reid and Jon Kyl for the Department of Justice to clarify its position. Two other states, Illinois and New York, also requested clarification regarding the Wire Act of 1961, one of the major laws used by the Department of Justice in pursuit of online gaming and poker regulation.
The opinion reverses the Justice Departments previous stance that all forms of gambling online are illegal, but stops short of stating that the Justice Department is looking to set regulations for a national online gaming system. The Department of Justice says the new policy “differs from the department’s previous interpretation of the Wire Act, (but) it reflects the department’s position in Congressional testimony at the time the Wire Act was passed in 1961.” The new decision by the Department of Justice says that the Wire Act only focuses on sports betting and not casino or poker offerings.
Several states may take advantage of this decision to introduce new lottery games within their borders. The new position does bring the possibility of individual states or a group of states banding together to allow online poker to make a comeback in the United States.
There is the chance that several states could band together to make an online poker offering more attractive. Much like multi-state lotteries like PowerBall and Mega Millions and some interstate horse racing, a multi-state online poker offering would offer the traffic needed to drive big revenues.
Which states are situated to take advantage of the new ruling? Nevada recently passed legislation that would allow for companies to offer an intrastate online poker offering for its citizens. Earlier this month, the Nevada Gaming Control Board announced that six companies have applied for licenses, but were holding off until the federal government announced a stance. The District of Columbia has long delayed plans to offer online poker to its residents. The latest decision by the Department of Justice could pave the way for that plan to actually come to fruition. Other states, such as Iowa, New Jersey, California and Florida, have also considered online poker regulation for its citizens, but previous bills have either been rejected or have been tabled due to the federal government’s opposition to internet gaming.
Proponents of legalized online gambling say the business could provide new sources of revenue for states. But others, including large casino interests, prefer a country wide system limited to online poker, say that the free-flowing nature of the Internet is ill-suited for state gambling plans, which would attempt to limit online gambling to within a given state’s borders.

The World has had its share of Black Fridays

The World has had its share of Black Fridays and the recent one involves the online gambling industry. For a long time, the gambling operators have made profitable amounts by opening up their sites to all players. Sometimes the players win, but overall the House winds up on the winning side more often than not. This chance of winning keeps all sides excited and in the business. To encourage players to come back, the operators have always offered great bonuses. The other thing they diid was pay online marketers to send them traffic. This is very lucrative for all parties. However, the fate of online marketers refering players to internet gambling websites that accept players from the United States has taken a big hit since the most recent Black Friday entered the world. For these particular online marketers refering US players only, Black Friday was a day that literally put them out of business. Those affiliate marketers who were participating in revenue sharing programs in Europe, had no problem, but those who serviced the US market fell flat on their faces. While it is hopeful that the internet marketers will find their feet once again, it will probably have to be by the US Government changing their laws and legalizing online gambling. Such a law has alreading been proposed in Congress to legalize internet poker. It has not passed yet and is not very far along, but it is a start. With the emergence and popularity of online gambling websites during the last few years, many more people are playing internet these days. Black Friday has forced them to find new places to play. Life has become so hectic these days and most gamblers still want to play internet, so a good up to date affiliate portal can save you time finding new places to play. If you’re from the United States find a portal that offers web sites for US players. Remember they have done all the work finding the websites for you, so just pick one and go. Remember, Black Friday hurt the industry, but it did not close it down. There is still many sites that cater to the US market. Of course, there is still alot of reasons to play online. You can play from the comfortable and safe environment in your home. These sites are beneficial for those who dont care for traditional casinos and for people who wre not able to make the trip to the casino. Also, these websites offer more games and variety than brick and mortar casinos. The online gaming sector hit the hardest from Black Friday was clearly the poker sector. The four biggest poker sites got there domains seized and left the US market. This sent a large number of poker players looking for new places to play. It also left millions of dollars of players funds in limbo. It also gave the affiliate portals the chance to rebound and get back into the thick of things. The portals who quickly offered new web sites to these players and helped them with their seized funds has the best chance to survive. Affiliates got hammer on Black Friday, but they’re down and not out. There is still affiliate portals that can direct you to good US poker sites and US Casino Sites. Find a respected one and you will be playing again very soon.

Is The Pokerlistings Arrangement With The Cake Poker Network An Innovation In The Affiliate Market?

With the current contract with Pokerlistings and the Cake Poker Network the industry is dealing with a new era of collaboration between poker rooms and poker affiliate marketers. The current arrangement between the many poker rooms and poker affiliate marketers is for affiliates to send players to the poker rooms in exchange for commissions for these players. The majority of poker affiliate sites refer players too many different poker rooms, making the poker rooms signups about equal. Of course, each affiliate portal will have its favorite poker rooms to refer to. This is usually based on the biggest signup bonuses, largest commissions, best conversion rates, and quick payouts. The implications of this agreement will have many affects on the market as it currently.

Pokerlistings is the largest gaming affiliate around and directing new customers mainly to one site can alter the balance of the poker rooms. They guarantee to send 3000 new players to the Cake Network each month. This is a big influx of players to the network. This could move the Cake network up the ladder and make them a serious contender in the market. Also, this can force other poker networks to ink exclusive contracts with other affiliate portals, which will revolutionize the gaming industry.

The next thing to watch is to see the reaction of both the poker affiliates and the poker sites. The poker sites can wait and see what the results of this contract will be. I would predict them not doing much until there is an impact in the industry. I’ve heard many say that they think the poker networks will act immediately to shore up contracts with poker affiliate portals. It will be interesting to see what happens next.

It will also be interesting to see what happens to the Pokerlistings website popularity as result of this contract. Potential players may see them as a portal pushing them in one direction. They’ve been considered to be impartial and give good solid reviews of all poker rooms and not favor one over the other. With them guaranteeing 3000 new players to Cake poker network they would seem to have to push players in that direction. This could undermine their reputation as an impartial website. Also, if other gambling portals go in the direction of this arrangement between the two, will they all become portals for specific poker networks?

Pokerlistings, like the majority of affiliate sites, refers players to internet poker sites that accept US poker players and ones that don’t. The Cake Poker Network is a US facing Poker brand. The question is what impact does this arrangement have on affiliate portals the refer to US poker sites only. They probably will have to adapt their sites to refer players to other sites other than Cake.

Normally it takes a while to see what the exact impact on the market is, but it is obvious that the industry is changing and it may not be for the best.

Enjoy Internet Poker Tournaments

You are sitting around the house on Saturday night with nothing to do. There is nothing good on television even though you have hundreds of cable channels. You happen to be sick of your movie collection and you do not feel like listening to music. In other words, you happen to be bored. You are extremely bored. You wish someone were around so you could play a good old fashion game of Poker. Well guess what? Now you can join one of the numerous poker tournaments online and start having some fun right now. There is no need to be bored tonight because all you have to do is turn on your computer, sign up for a tournament, and make some new friends. There are hundreds of people playing in poker tournaments right now and you can meet a number of them. Everyone is having a blast and so can you!

It is really quite easy to play online. All that is required is a flash enabled web browser and you happen to be on your way. Some folks choose to download the software instead. Either way, online poker is safe and fun for all. In addition to high quality software, the servers are fast and secure. So you can rest assured knowing your money is safe. Best of all, everyone can play from the comfort of their very own living rooms without ever having to be bothered with noisy crowds and parking. It is so much easier to endure at one of the online US poker sites then it is when playing at a regular casino. The explanation of why is simple. If you happen to be winning, the tournament could last for hours. Some folks do not have the endurance to stay for hours when they are at the casino. However, when they play from home it is easy to take a break or go to the kitchen for a snack. In other words, it is much easier to play longer from home. It is less stressful too. Therefore, your endurance is higher. Maybe you will be able to win more often because you are playing the game from home.

Online Poker USA has another distinct advantage too. You can keep track of your standing and the other players standing with just the click of a mouse button. This is a very handy feature for people that like to maintain your statistics, count chips, and play the game shrewdly. This is not easily done at the casino, unless of course you have a computer in your head. Which not many people possess. Another advantage to playing in tournaments is the online poker bonuses. They make it much easier for the first-time player to get their feet wet. The more experienced poker players will appreciate them too. Now, everyone can have fun with online poker tournaments when they benefit from online poker bonuses.

When you add it all up, your internet poker tournaments of today are safe, fun, and entertaining. Why not take a look today. You will be so glad you did.
