The Vampires Club Groups – Which One Do You Belong To?
Just in any other social group, in the Vampire Community there are different categories of vampires. Although some would argue that that are only two distinctions with subcategories of each – sanguinarians and psy vampires.
The distinctions are made according to how the vampires ´feed´ but all types of vampires feed on energy known as life force. While any form of categorization will of course be a generalization, it helps to understand the different needs and desires of the various individuals in a vampires club.
- Sanguinarian/Sanguine
Vampires who drink blood. Only a small amount of blood is required each time and it is freely given by a donor. - Psy/Psi
Vampires who do not drink blood but instead feed on energy psychically. Again, a donor can provide the life energy required, or it can be harnessed from crowds or groups without the participants being aware of it. - Sexual
The energies created while having sex are what feed sexual vampires – particularly from the concentration of energy that is created at the time of orgasm – either from the bodily fluids and/or psychically. - Empathic
Fed by the energies that come from the negative emotions of others such as fear and anger. - Astral
Able to travel on the astral plane feeding off other entities or those who are asleep. Sometimes included and sometimes separate from this group are Dreamscape Vampires who can participate in or manipulate a persons dream. - Soul
As the name implies, these vampires feed from the energy that comes from the soul of a person. They may get memories and desires from the person they are feeding from as well as acquiring some of their abilities. - Elemental
Feed on the energies of the four elements – water, fire, earth and wind
When talking about how each different type of member of the vampires club feeds on the energy or energies of others or of other things, it relates to what is called ´Life Force Energies´. Even those who feed on blood do so to extract the life force energy from it rather for the blood itself. A defining trait of many vampires is this very need to gain energy from external sources.
There are many different variations on the above, with different naming conventions depending on whether the vampire is a mixture of some of the types listed. However it can become unnecessarily complex to describe them all when most vampires can broadly identify with at least one of the categories listed.
